Role Overview

This Melbourne-based leadership role entails overseeing the financial direction for the DCOH Group. Reporting to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will lead the finance team in managing financial reporting, compliance, governance, and risk management. This position supports top management in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage month-end and year-end group close processes, delivering consolidated reports and statutory financial statements on time.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory compliance, taxation, audit processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, treasury, revenue recognition, and cost accounting.
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls, governance frameworks, and accounting policies throughout the Group.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations to assure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis and recommendations to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing centralized finance team fostering accountability and execution excellence.
  • Promote continuous improvement in finance systems, reporting, control, and operational efficiency.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate closely with business unit finance leads to maintain consistent financial practices and governance standards.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with auditors, banks, advisors, and key internal stakeholders.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and professionalism aligned with DCOH's Code of Conduct.

Candidate Profile

  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA (or equivalent postgraduate degree) with a relevant tertiary degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least 10 years of comprehensive experience in accounting and finance, including senior leadership roles.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of AASB, IFRS standards, taxation, and statutory reporting.
  • Proven track record in managing audits, governance frameworks, and financial control environments.
  • Experience in managing banking relationships, cashflow, and financial risk.
  • Strong commercial insight with aptitude for financial performance analysis and identifying enhancement opportunities.
  • Leadership experience in building and developing effective finance teams.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills with ability to influence across all business levels.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on process optimization.
  • Experience in construction, property development, hospitality, or project-driven environments highly desirable.
