Overview
The GIS Analyst role supports the advancement of NTTA's enterprise Geographic Information System, collaborating with internal teams to identify GIS technology applications tailored to their workflows. The position is responsible for troubleshooting GIS data and system issues while supporting overall organizational goals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop geospatial solutions including reports, maps, and analyses that visually and spatially represent complex data for various internal business stakeholders.
- Create and maintain web maps and mapping applications utilizing ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Document geospatial data and GIS workflows, aiding in the implementation and upkeep of geospatial data and process governance.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control for transportation-related spatial datasets.
- Perform spatial analyses and generate customized informational products using GIS software and subsystems.
- Manage asset data creation, maintenance, and integration within NTTA’s enterprise asset management system.
- Offer training and technical assistance to GIS users.
- Execute scheduled GIS server and system maintenance during nights or weekends to reduce disruption to users.
- Continue enhancing expertise in GIS methodologies, functionalities, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related discipline required.
- Minimum of one year professional experience working with GIS.
- Proficient with ArcGIS Pro as the primary desktop tool.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise product suite.
- Experience editing data within ESRI enterprise geodatabases.
- Skilled in performing QA/QC on spatial datasets, web maps, and web apps.
- Experience interpreting imagery and extracting features from it.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or comparable field.
- Experience collecting transportation and utility asset data.
- Knowledge of converting CAD and survey data into GIS formats.
- Understanding of GPS/GNSS technologies.
- Familiar with linear referencing systems.
- Some programming experience in Java, SQL, and Python.
