General Merchandise Team Lead

Overview

This position supports leadership within the General Merchandise department by assisting in managing department operations, addressing challenges, and fostering associate growth through effective coaching and training. The role prioritizes exceptional customer service while ensuring operational tasks are completed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, helping locate merchandise, promoting products and services, resolving issues, and directing concerns appropriately.
• Support coordination and direction of task completion aligned with priorities set by the General Merchandise Coach and Store Management, including delegating and monitoring daily Customer Availability activities.
• Evaluate and maintain attractive merchandise presentations and department appearance, initiating display adjustments as needed.
• Facilitate strong communication within the team by leading daily shift huddles, sharing updates, establishing goals, and tracking team productivity.
• Collaborate with People Lead to review schedules and assign associates for adequate coverage across store areas.
• Conduct area tours with management to identify training needs, provide guidance, and deliver constructive feedback to associates.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment by following company policies, completing safety checks, and ensuring displays are secure and tidy.
• Complete administrative tasks through GTA/Workday platforms and assist management functions.
• Work alongside Coaches and People Leads to manage performance, facilitate growth discussions, and support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.

Compensation

The starting hourly salary for this position is $20.85.
