Role Overview
This part-time remote position seeks a Fundraiser to devise and execute fundraising strategies supporting independent journalism. Key duties involve identifying potential donors, sponsors, and partners, along with extensive research and segmentation of funding prospects. The candidate will craft persuasive proposals and presentations, carry out outreach through emails, calls, and virtual meetings, and diligently maintain donor records. Monitoring fundraising campaigns and generating regular performance reports for leadership are essential tasks. Collaboration with editorial and management teams will ensure fundraising efforts align with investigative projects, special series, and the NT Bangla desk.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in fundraising, including prospecting, campaign management, and donor care.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in persuasive writing, presentations, and relationship management with varied stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities complemented by familiarity with CRM systems or fundraising software and basic budgeting skills.
- Interest or background in media, journalism, or nonprofit sectors, particularly promoting independent, investigative reporting.
- Capability to perform autonomously in a remote setting, meeting deadlines and coordinating with international teams.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, business, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous involvement in fundraising, sales, business development, or acquiring sponsorships is an advantage.
- Cultural awareness and aptitude for engaging supporters from diverse geographic and cultural environments.
