ENWAY, a Bucher Municipal company headquartered in Berlin, pioneers autonomous street cleaning by transforming traditional sweepers into advanced self-driving vehicles. Their flagship product, the Bucher CityCat VR17ae, represents a fully autonomous compact sweeper now active on the roads.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Full Stack Web Engineer to develop and maintain the web applications and tools that enable users to operate our autonomous vehicles effectively. This includes creating fleet monitoring dashboards, customer and operator portals, and internal tools used by engineering and operations teams. You will oversee features throughout their lifecycle — from user interface design to API development and data handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack web applications including front-end, back-end, and APIs dedicated to fleet monitoring, operations, and customer-facing solutions.
• Transform live vehicle telemetry, fleet status, and mission data into intuitive, responsive dashboards and visualizations incorporating maps and reports.
• Design robust APIs and data models while integrating with vehicle, telematics, and backend systems.
• Create internal productivity tools enhancing efficiency for engineering, service, and operations teams.
• Own features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration informed by user feedback.
• Work collaboratively with product, design, robotics/software, and operations teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute to shaping frontend/backend architecture, coding standards, and best practices as products evolve.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Proven experience delivering production-grade web applications encompassing both frontend and backend development.
• Proficiency in at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Vue, or Angular, along with TypeScript or JavaScript expertise.
• Strong backend skills, for example with Node.js, including RESTful or GraphQL API development and maintenance.
• Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL and sound data modeling abilities.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git), automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Good understanding of web fundamentals, API design principles, and basic security concepts.
• Demonstrated ownership mentality, capable of driving features from conception through deployment while maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• At least three years of professional full-time software engineering experience.
• Fluency in English communication.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of German language.
• Experience with real-time data streams using WebSockets or event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with map and geospatial technologies like Mapbox, Leaflet, or PostGIS.
• Cloud computing experience (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and containerization with Docker.
• Expertise in data visualization and dashboard design.
• An eye for UI/UX design and close collaboration with design teams.
• Interest in robotics, IoT, telematics, or hardware-integrated applications.
