Freelance Clinical Research Associate - Ophthalmology

About the Role

Hlx Life Sciences is collaborating with a pioneering global biotech firm seeking a Freelance Clinical Research Associate (CRA) to support an ophthalmology-focused clinical trial across Australia. This presents a chance to engage with a growing study from its inception, working alongside a seasoned global Clinical Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site selection, initiation, interim monitoring, and close-out visits for study sites.
• Develop and sustain effective relationships with investigators and clinical sites.
• Ensure clinical trials adhere to ICH-GCP guidelines, study protocols, and Australian regulatory requirements.
• Support site performance, patient recruitment, and maintenance of high data quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with sponsors and the broader study team to facilitate successful trial execution.

Requirements

• Prior experience working as a Clinical Research Associate.
• Essential expertise in ophthalmology clinical trials.
• Proven independent monitoring experience across Phase II and/or Phase III studies.
• Comprehensive understanding of ICH-GCP principles and Australian clinical trial regulations.
• Valid full working rights within Australia.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to investigative sites throughout Australia.

Additional Information

• Engagement is on a freelance contract basis with a minimum half-time (0.5 FTE) commitment.
• The position is home-based anywhere in Australia, with regular site visits required.
• Competitive hourly remuneration will be provided.
