Role Summary
The FP&A Analyst role is an entry-level position within Built's Finance team, supporting financial reporting, budgeting, and analytic efforts to provide insights that guide business decisions. The role involves forecasting, financial modeling, and delivering decision-relevant intelligence to the CEO, CFO, and leadership across multiple SaaS product lines serving lenders, owners, contractors, and marketplaces.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and management packages ensuring financial data is actionable.
- Maintain and update standard financial models, budgets, and forecasts.
- Extract and organize data from financial and CRM systems such as NetSuite, Planful, and Salesforce to support analyses.
- Conduct research and create basic analytical insights under guidance from senior staff.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly financial close activities, including consolidation and reporting.
- Manage financial schedules, KPI tracking tools, and dashboards.
- Support special projects and perform ad hoc analyses as requested by the FP&A team.
- Incorporate AI tools to improve data organization, reporting accuracy, and documentation efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Between zero and two years of experience in finance, accounting, or analytical roles; recent graduates with relevant internships considered.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in Excel complemented by meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and oral communication skills to clearly present financial information highlighting key points.
- Keen interest in understanding SaaS business models and the financial drivers of growth.
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, or financial planning software such as Planful, Adaptive, or Anaplan is advantageous.

- Autonomously maintain and refresh financial models, budgets, and KPI trackers.
- Deliver reliable data extraction from financial and CRM systems with high trust from team members.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Built’s SaaS revenue and financial metrics.
- Earn recognition from senior colleagues as detail-focused, proactive, and progressively improving.
- Identify and flag data quality and analysis issues proactively.
AI & Technology Integration
- Utilize AI tools to boost efficiency, accuracy, and speed of work tasks.
- Leverage AI for drafting documents, analytical support, summarizing findings, and problem-solving.
- Seek opportunities to automate workflows and reduce manual effort with AI.
- Apply AI capabilities to enhance decision-making and strategic insights.
- Share AI usage best practices across the team.
Additional Details
The salary range for this position is $69,000 to $79,000 per year, reflecting a full spectrum of proficiency within the role. The compensation package includes equity via stock options, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, an unlimited PTO policy, and other benefits such as a 401(k) plan with company matching and expedited vesting (US only). Employees not based in Nashville are expected to travel there at least twice annually for company events, with additional travel possible depending on role needs.
