Role Overview
CO-Ver, Inc. is hiring a founding CEO for a construction change order verification SaaS platform. The company is remote-first in the US, operating at seed / early stage, and the role reports to the founder and board. The platform is close to launch, the pricing structure is already set, and an existing commercial team is in place to help bring the product to market.
The position is intended for a hands-on executive who can guide the business from launch through early scale. The right leader will take responsibility for revenue growth, direct the commercial team, and work closely with the founder on the next funding round. At this stage, the CEO also takes on finance and operations responsibilities that would normally sit with CFO and COO functions until the company grows enough to add dedicated leaders.
About the Company
The business is building a SaaS solution for one of the most expensive and recurring issues in real estate development: change orders. For owners and developers, these changes often create budget uncertainty, timeline delays, and contract conflicts. Existing workflows are still heavily dependent on email, spreadsheets, and manual coordination.
The platform is designed to give owner/developer teams a structured, audit-ready way to verify, track, and approve change orders across projects. The goal is to reduce financial exposure, speed up decisions, and maintain a reliable record throughout the process. The MVP is in its final development stage, pricing has already been defined, and the company is now assembling the commercial engine needed to scale.
What You Will Do
- Lead the commercial organization directly, including day-to-day management of the Account Executives and Marketing Manager until a sales director is needed.
- Set performance targets, activity standards, and accountability systems for the commercial team.
- Coach the AE through the entire sales process, from prospecting owner/developer accounts through deal closure.
- Guide marketing strategy across positioning, content, demand generation, and brand visibility in the owner/developer market.
- Create repeatable sales and marketing processes that can support future growth.
- Own the go-to-market plan for owner/developers, including developers, family offices, REITs, and institutional project owners.
- Lead the commercial launch with the current team and convert early design partners into paying customers.
- Use the established pricing model to build a scalable and repeatable selling motion.
- Identify channel partnerships, industry groups, and referral opportunities within the owner/developer ecosystem.
- Work with the founder on Series A preparation by providing commercial traction, pipeline data, and the go-to-market story.
- Handle investor updates, board communication, and financial reporting.
- Support investor diligence and relationship development with prospective backers.
- Act as the customer’s voice by turning owner/developer feedback into clear product priorities.
- Coordinate with the fractional CTO and product team to align the roadmap with near-term commercial needs.
- Maintain tight feedback loops between early customers and the development team before and after MVP launch.
- Oversee seed-stage finance and operations, including budget management, burn rate, cash runway, and capital allocation.
- Manage accounting, payroll, expense tracking, and forecasting infrastructure.
- Build operating processes and documentation that support the next stage of growth.
- Make sure legal, compliance, and vendor/contract foundations are properly established.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of operating experience in B2B SaaS, ideally in a founder, GM, COO, or VP-level role with direct responsibility for revenue.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and hold a commercial team accountable across sales and/or marketing.
- Experience in early-stage environments, including commercial launches, 0-to-1 go-to-market execution, or transitions from seed to Series A.
- Strong understanding of the owner/developer segment, including real estate developers, project owners, family offices, or institutional capital in the built environment.
- Solid financial judgment, including budgeting, burn control, financial modeling, and investor reporting.
- A collaborative style and the ability to work effectively with a hands-on founder.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience as a CEO, COO, or President in a SaaS, PropTech, or ConTech business.
- Experience managing both sales and marketing functions at the same time in a lean-resource environment.
- A network of potential executive hires and senior commercial talent.
- Connections within owner/developer circles, development management teams, ownership groups, or real estate investment firms.
- Familiarity with construction project management from the owner side, including change orders, contingency planning, draw schedules, and project controls.
- Exposure to venture fundraising, including Seed through Series A/B support or co-leadership.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation package is designed for a mission-aligned executive at seed stage and includes meaningful equity, competitive cash compensation, and the authority to shape the company alongside the founding team.
- Competitive base pay with the cash/equity mix to be discussed based on candidate preference.
- Meaningful founding equity with a standard vesting schedule.
- Full benefits coverage, including health, dental, and vision.
- Flexible remote-first working setup.
- An immediate team to lead, with an Account Executive and Marketing Manager already in place.
Additional Information
This role is full-time and remote-first, with a US focus. The company is at seed / early stage, and the CEO will report to the founder and board. The leader hired for this role will play a central part in commercial execution, fundraising preparation, and building the operating foundation for the business.
