Overview

As a Fleet Coordinator at Tiger Brands, you will manage the daily fleet operations to guarantee vehicle availability, compliance with legal standards, cost efficiency, preventative upkeep, and smooth transportation processes. This role ensures continuous operations by maximizing fleet usage, overseeing service providers, tracking vehicle performance, and enforcing company policies along with statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize daily fleet operations to ensure vehicles meet operational needs and are properly assigned.
  • Monitor and optimize vehicle utilization and fleet deployment.
  • Plan vehicle allocations aligned with business priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all vehicle movements.
  • Facilitate effective communication among drivers, operations teams, maintenance services, and management.
  • Promptly address operational challenges, including vehicle breakdowns.
  • Arrange preventative maintenance schedules and servicing for fleet vehicles.
  • Oversee maintenance timelines and ensure timely completion of services.
  • Manage vehicle repairs and mechanical assessments.
  • Keep detailed records of all service and repair activities.
  • Ensure fleet vehicles meet roadworthiness and safety regulations.
  • Track vehicle licenses, registrations, permits, and certifications, ensuring renewals are up-to-date.
  • Coordinate annual inspections and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, identify any anomalies, and manage fuel card usage including monthly reconciliations.
  • Analyze fleet expenses covering fuel, maintenance, repairs, insurance, licensing, and tolls.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing costs.
  • Control vehicle operating costs within budgetary limits.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a National Diploma in Logistics or a related field.
  • Have at least five years of supervisory experience in logistics, preferably within the FMCG sector.
