About Comet Bay College and Role Summary

As a First Aid Officer, you will be the primary provider of first aid care within the school environment, supporting students, staff, and volunteers in accordance with your qualifications and departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer first aid and manage related care needs for the school community.
- Oversee the self-administration of prescribed medications by students.
- Coordinate with parents or guardians regarding the collection of sick or injured students.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all first aid incidents accurately and consistently.
- Regularly inspect and restock first aid supplies and kits.
- Manage the first aid budget efficiently.
- Provide general clerical and administrative assistance as required.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or possess a valid visa with work rights for the appointment duration.
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check prior to commencement.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and secure a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit.
- Possess demonstrable knowledge, expertise, and relevant qualifications in first aid.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of collaborating with staff at various levels and managing emergency situations effectively.
- Have proven experience in accurate record keeping and proficiency using diverse software tools.
- Demonstrate solid organisational skills for developing effective administrative practices with an ability to work independently and seek assistance when necessary.
