Fire Sealant Applicator

Overview

We are seeking a proficient Fire Sealant Applicator to become an essential member of our fire protection team. This role involves applying fire-resistant sealants and materials effectively to various structural components, ensuring buildings maintain their fire compartmentation integrity in compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply fire-rated materials such as sealants, foams, collars, wraps, and boards around joints and penetrations following project requirements.
• Prepare areas by cleaning, cutting, and treating surfaces prior to application.
• Interpret firestopping blueprints, drawings, and method statements accurately.
• Ensure all applications conform with manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.
• Label and document each installation for quality assurance and inspection purposes.
• Collaborate closely with site supervisors, safety personnel, and QA/QC teams to uphold compliance.
• Maintain and safely store tools and equipment used during the application process.
• Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines, especially when working at heights or within confined spaces.

Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge of various firestopping systems and UL-certified products.
• Competence in interpreting technical schematics and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Basic awareness of safety practices within construction and MEP environments.
• Good physical fitness to handle demanding working conditions.

Additional Advantages

• Certification or formal training in firestopping from recognized institutions is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, or healthcare project environments preferred.
• Possession of valid safety-related certificates such as Work at Heights or Confined Space training is beneficial.

Work Environment

• Work will be site-based, potentially at multiple project locations.
• Tasks may require long working hours and operating in confined or elevated settings.
• Personal protective equipment and other necessary safety gear will be supplied by the employer.
