Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

About the Role

A prominent European fintech rapidly expanding its operations is looking to hire a Senior Lead Strategic FP&A expert to steer its next growth stage. This role is vital in a fast-moving, data-centric setting, requiring a finance professional with sharp commercial insight to manage financial planning, economic modeling, and strategic evaluation. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior leadership to help steer key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve the organization's integrated financial model, including profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and KPI reporting.
• Create detailed scenario models, sensitivity analyses, and strategic investment frameworks to guide business planning and decision-making efforts.
• Assist with capital allocation, funding strategies, commercial investments, and mergers & acquisitions analysis.
• Advance financial modeling infrastructure to enhance its flexibility, governance, and scalability.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting alongside rolling forecasts across various departments.
• Build and update forecasting models for headcount, operating expenses, and revenue.
• Provide scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to facilitate executive and board decisions.
• Partner with operational and finance teams to challenge assumptions and improve forecast accuracy.
• Act as a trusted financial advisor to commercial, product, technology, and operations units.
• Translate complex financial data into concise, actionable insights for senior management.
• Support strategic initiatives with thorough evaluation of hiring, expenditure, and investment decisions.
• Develop and sustain cohort analysis, customer profitability, and unit economics models.
• Evaluate profitability by products, customer segments, and regions to uncover value opportunities.
• Present clear, commercial insights and recommendations to boost company growth and performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance; relevant finance certifications are a plus.
• Experience in FP&A, strategic or corporate finance, investment banking, or a comparable analytical field.
• Preferably experienced in high-growth fintech, payments, financial services, or tech sectors.
• Advanced skills in financial modeling, including integrated three-statement models, scenario analysis, and business case formulation.
• Proven record in supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Strong grasp of financial accounting, reporting, and control principles.
• Adept at analyzing complicated data sets and generating commercial insights.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Highly analytical mindset paired with strong commercial awareness.
• Balances meticulous attention to detail with a pragmatic business focus.
