Finance Director

Overview

We are seeking a Finance Director to spearhead the finance division of a rapidly expanding modular construction company based in South-West Dublin. This key leadership role is integral to the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the Managing Director and Group Leadership to drive substantial commercial growth as the business aims to increase its revenue from €12 million to €25 million within the upcoming year. The focus will be on ensuring robust profitability, effective risk management, and strategic long-term financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and enhance financial controls, cash flow conversion, and operational governance across a growing portfolio of construction projects.
• Oversee detailed construction accounting including work-in-progress, contract profitability analysis, revenue recognition in compliance with FRS 102/IFRS 15 standards, and management of claims and variations.
• Manage treasury operations and working capital to facilitate rapid scaling of business operations.
• Lead budgeting processes and develop scenario-based forecasting models to support dynamic business needs.
• Conduct commercial contract assessments to optimize financial outcomes.
• Improve and maintain finance systems and processes utilizing Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP software.
• Champion financial risk management and ensure compliance adherence.
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team to support organizational growth objectives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified accountant holding CIMA, ACCA, or ACA credentials.
• Minimum of eight years post-qualification experience within construction or project-based financial environments.
• Strong expertise in project accounting, working capital management, and constructing detailed financial models.
• Practical experience working with Business Central or equivalent enterprise resource planning systems.
• Proven ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational financial management levels.
• Demonstrated commercial insight with a successful history of partnering with senior leadership to facilitate multi-million euro growth.
