Role Overview

The FIFO Auto Electrician is responsible for conducting daily electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting faults, and repairing heavy mobile equipment and vehicles to ensure their safe and efficient operation. This includes performing scheduled electrical maintenance and responding promptly to breakdown incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled electrical maintenance tasks on heavy mobile machinery.
• Attend and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Complete accurate maintenance and repair documentation.
• Adhere strictly to site safety protocols and company guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with mechanical technicians and maintain clear communication with supervisors and clients.
• Contribute actively to improving maintenance procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven expertise in electrical maintenance and repair for heavy mobile equipment and vehicles.
• Solid skills in diagnosing and resolving complex electrical faults.
• Experience servicing mining or civil sector machinery such as trucks, loaders, excavators, and ancillary equipment.
• Possession of a relevant trade qualification as an Auto Electrician or an equivalent certification.
• Holds current electrical licenses and certifications as mandated.
• Strong safety focus, ability to follow procedures diligently, and capability to function in remote work environments under FIFO rosters.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol tests, and satisfy site access conditions.
