Fiber Field Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Fiber Field Engineer to join our team. The role involves hands-on work with fiber optic systems, including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal network performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out fiber optic cable installations, including Fiber to the Home (FTTH) deployments.
• Perform fiber splicing and optical testing using OTDR and optical power meters.
• Diagnose faults in fiber cable systems and complete corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Handle cable routing, termination, and network maintenance operations effectively.
• Support network functions based on GPON technology principles.
• Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate documentation of field activities.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols while onsite and collaborate with team members for efficient task execution.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical support as part of the role.

Candidate Requirements

• Proficiency in fiber optic installation and FTTH systems.
• Experience with fiber splicing and operation of OTDR and optical power meter testing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills for fiber cable troubleshooting and fault repair.
• Knowledge of GPON technology and cable routing/termination techniques.
• Ability to work safely and in coordination with teams in field settings.

Compensation

The monthly remuneration for this position ranges between 12,000 and 18,000 INR.
