Job Overview
We are collaborating with a well-established UK civil engineering contractor expanding their pre-construction team by hiring multiple Estimators at various experience levels. This role is essential in delivering precise cost planning and bid preparation for a range of infrastructure and earthworks projects.
Core Duties
- Develop detailed cost evaluations for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor packages.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work details to accurately define project scope.
- Manage the full tender process, ensuring internal consensus and timely submission of estimates.
- Establish and sustain robust relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Create comprehensive documentation and transition materials to aid project teams and enhance estimating practices.
Candidate Profile
- Proven background in civil engineering, infrastructure, or earthworks estimating delivering first-principles cost models.
- Strong analytical ability, exceptional accuracy, and commercial insight.
- Experienced using industry-standard estimating software and highly skilled in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Well-versed in reviewing tender packages and handling bid preparations from start to finish.
Qualifications & Experience
- Typically over 3 years in estimating roles within civil engineering, earthworks, or related fields.
- Experience with large or technically complex projects and familiarity with UK standards and cost factors is preferred.
- Relevant educational or professional credentials in civil engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, or similar disciplines.
