Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Environmental Consultant position is based in Abbotsford, BC. The role entails performing on-site field assessments, gathering environmental data, and supporting the evaluation of environmental impacts across various land development and agricultural projects. Key responsibilities include preparing detailed and precise reports, communicating results effectively to clients, and aiding in the formulation of strategies that comply with regulatory frameworks and best practice standards.

The daily functions involve working alongside internal QEPs and external partners, analyzing environmental compliance requirements, and offering actionable advice to enhance land productivity without compromising environmental quality. Staying informed about the latest environmental legislation, guidelines, and industry developments is also essential.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong foundation in environmental science and consulting methodologies.
• Experience with Environmental Impact Assessments and compliance evaluations for land development or agricultural initiatives.
• Competent in report writing, able to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Possession of a relevant post-secondary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geography, or related disciplines.
• Skillful in conducting fieldwork under varied environmental conditions and interpreting data using standard tools and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with landowners, developers, farmers, regulators, and internal colleagues.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, capable of managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of regional and federal environmental regulations related to land use and development; prior consulting experience is advantageous.
