Role Overview

As an Engineering Manager leading the Reporting team, you will oversee a newly restructured group dedicated to a critical segment within Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Program Orchestration. This position is pivotal in shaping how customers comprehend, visualize, and operationalize compliance and security initiatives. The team focuses on advancing Vanta's reporting platform beyond traditional dashboards to a scalable, AI-powered experience, managing key projects including enterprise reporting, historical analytics, AI-driven insights, and certified data infrastructure that supports in-product functionalities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and expand a high-performing engineering team by coaching, strategic hiring, and identifying process improvements to elevate the engineering standards.
• Manage execution of key strategic projects across multiple quarters, emphasizing reporting infrastructure, enterprise-level reporting features, AI-enhanced insights, and robust data foundations.
• Collaborate with Product and cross-functional engineering teams to define the long-term technical architecture and product strategy for reporting and data-centric products.
• Navigate ambiguous and rapidly changing environments, balancing immediate customer needs with long-term technology investments.
• Work closely with Product, Design, Platform, and business teams to evolve Vanta's reporting strategies and enterprise data capabilities.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years in a full-time engineering management capacity, having successfully led teams of 8 to 12+ engineers.
• Experience managing teams responsible for building reporting or data visualization products.
• Strong technical background, preferably as a senior or staff engineer, capable of providing guidance on data infrastructure and product architecture.
• Proven ability to deliver results across multiple initiatives while sustaining quality and team velocity.
• Experience in setting product and technical strategies in collaboration with Product and Design functions.
• Prior involvement in engineering-wide strategic initiatives.
• Effective decision-making skills to balance ambiguity, data availability, pace, and quality.
• Strong influence and communication capabilities to engage cross-functional stakeholders and teams.
• Openness to leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance workflows, with curiosity, learning agility, and responsible application of AI to improve productivity and impact.
