Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team for a project-based position located in Athlone.

Main Duties

  • Execute weekly safety inspections at the site and document observations.
  • Provide expert advice on Health & Safety laws to site leadership.
  • Organize and conduct safety training sessions for all site personnel.
  • Carry out risk evaluations and support the creation of method statements.
  • Prepare monthly safety performance reports for upper management.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings with subcontractors to ensure coordinated safety efforts.
  • Oversee compliance with health and safety standards, halting unsafe activities if needed.
  • Support the upkeep of the safety management system and ensure legal compliance is met.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, reviewing all subcontractor files regularly.
  • Implement daily Safe Plan of Action (SPA) forms on site.
  • Lead weekly Safety Focus (Toolbox) Talks and maintain detailed attendance records.
  • Investigate, document, and report any accidents or near misses promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Possession of recognized Environmental, Health & Safety Degree or Diploma.
  • Between 3 to 5 years of relevant experience within a similar role for an Irish main contractor.
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office suite and database management.
  • Prior experience involved with pharmaceutical sector projects is advantageous.
