Job description
Overview
The role of the Driver primarily involves transporting, loading, and unloading deliveries to aircraft at Dublin Airport. This position requires interaction with airline crew and demands professionalism and effective communication. The role includes handling food and equipment in a secure environment while adhering strictly to safety and procedural standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct vehicle inspection before starting each shift.
- Safely load and unload meals between trucks and aircraft in compliance with airport safety, airline, and company policies.
- Ensure vehicle security checks and sealing by authorized personnel prior to departure, accompanied by correct documentation.
- Operate the vehicle to the aircraft following Road Safety Authority (RSA) regulations, airport laws, and company protocols.
- Adhere exactly to training when driving to aircraft, avoiding any deviations.
- Load aircraft according to galley plans, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Provide security documentation to airline crew and obtain signatures on delivery notes.
- Return unused catering stock to relevant departments upon completion.
- Use digital tachograph for recording every trip.
- Manage vehicle sign-in and sign-out procedures when leaving and returning to the unit.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks, including cleaning and refueling to maintain fleet standards.
- Support other departments with tasks during downtime as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements
- Possession of a valid Class C driving licence, CPC licence, and digital tachograph card.
- Minimum of one year experience operating rigid trucks.
- Availability to work weekdays and weekends as required.
- Willingness to undergo Garda vetting and a five-year background check.
