Job Purpose

The Draftsman – Landscape is entrusted with producing precise landscape drawings, planting plans, and documentation for external works that support concept, detailed, and IFC design phases. This role ensures that drawings are coordinated, professionally presented, technically compliant, and aligned with the design team's vision while meeting authority standards and integrating architectural and infrastructure inputs seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate hardscape, softscape, planting, and external works drawings adhering to designers' instructions.
• Create detailed layouts with accurate measurements, annotations, and elevation levels.
• Ensure clear and consistent communication of design intent through drawings.
• Update drawings incorporating feedback from landscape designers, architects, and infrastructure units.
• Help resolve conflicts related to layouts involving utilities, site levels, and building interfaces.
• Prepare all draftings in compliance with Sharjah Municipality standards and project guidelines.
• Incorporate revisions prompted by design collaborators or authority reviews into drawing sets.
• Organize and maintain CAD files, drawing registers, and documentation of revisions.
• Guarantee drawings issued for tender or IFC stages reflect the most current and approved information.
• Revise drawings following site feedback including markups, as-built details, and external works clarifications.
• Adjust layouts to accommodate level changes, utility alignments, and hardscape alterations observed onsite.
• Collaborate closely with site teams to validate clarifications before updating drawings.
• Conduct quality reviews focusing on clarity, layering, scale accuracy, and detailing consistency prior to release.
• Ensure adherence to approved templates and naming conventions for sheet compositions, titles, and drawing numbers.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Landscape Design, Civil Drafting, or a related discipline is mandatory.
• Formal training in AutoCAD or relevant landscape drafting software is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in landscape or external works drafting within the UAE is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in preparing planting plans, hardscape layouts, elevation levels, and external works drawings.

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in AutoCAD and comprehensive knowledge of landscape drafting standards.
• Thorough understanding of planting design, hardscape detailing, and the coordination required for external works.
• Strong interpersonal and coordination abilities to communicate effectively with designers, architects, and infrastructure teams.
• Excellent document management skills, with strict adherence to file naming and organization standards.
• Precision in annotation, dimensioning, and depiction of details.
• Ability to swiftly incorporate design updates while ensuring drawing uniformity.
• Clear, concise communication skills and commitment to executing design team instructions accurately.
