Job description

Overview

The District Manager plays a key role in executing store strategies aligned with company objectives across multiple locations within the district. This individual partners closely with the Regional Vice President (RVP) and Store Managers to ensure clear communication, accountability, and delivery of sales and service goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the RVP to interpret and deploy district strategies effectively across all stores, ensuring each Store Manager understands their role and responsibilities in achieving set objectives.
  • Lead implementation of corporate and regional programs aimed at driving sales and customer service excellence, fostering a quantifiable sales-driven culture by setting and tracking measurable goals.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service by ensuring store teams are aware of competitive offerings and utilizing corporate initiatives and new technologies to enhance differentiation.
  • Define primary district priorities and communicate these clearly to Store Managers to keep the district's efforts aligned with overall company strategy.
  • Conduct regular in-store visits to confirm adherence to Lowe's brand presentation standards; promptly address any deviations.
  • Analyze store staffing, payroll, and other controllable expenses to ensure they meet required standards. Proactively identify opportunities to improve staffing efficiency and reduce costs, while collaborating with Area Staff for operational program execution.
  • Develop Store Managers into autonomous, high-performing leaders by continually challenging and mentoring them, supporting leadership development, and promoting a diverse and talented team to enhance sales and profitability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four years' experience as a Store Manager at Lowe’s or equivalent retail management experience in operations overseeing revenues above $40 million.
  • Proven ability in developing and motivating both direct and indirect reports.
  • Competence in using customer, market, and competitor data to guide business decisions and planning.
  • Experience in crafting and executing business plans aligned with defined strategies.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related discipline, or comparable relevant experience.
  • Experience managing within the big-box Home Improvement retail sector.
  • Management experience in multi-unit retail operations.

Compensation
