Khan Academy India aims to provide a high-quality, locally relevant learning experience supported by a strong onsite team. The platform operates on a mastery-based model, allowing students to fully understand concepts before advancing. Since 2016, the user base has grown from less than 500,000 to nearly 10 million monthly learners across websites, apps, and YouTube channels. The outreach includes both independent learners and those guided by teachers, focusing particularly on underserved populations by offering content in multiple languages such as English, Assamese, Hindi, Hinglish, Odia, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, and Punjabi.

Schools Team and Role Overview

The Schools Team partners with government school systems to improve student outcomes by facilitating the effective use of Khan Academy's resources. Having engaged over 2 million learners and 65,000+ schools, the team's objective is to expand reach to over 5 million learners within five years through training, support, and data-driven iteration.

The District Coordinator will join the Telangana Schools Team to champion the Khan Academy program's deployment in government schools within one designated district and up to two nearby districts. Reporting to the Senior Program Lead, this 12-month contract entails close collaboration with school management and teachers to boost adoption and daily use of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage district-level implementation of the Khan Academy program.
• Lead rollout and ongoing support across all assigned district schools.
• Assist in organizing both online and offline teacher trainings and orientations.
• Maintain consistent follow-up with schools to promote sustained and effective platform usage.
• Monitor implementation progress, identify gaps, and escalate issues as needed.
• Engage district officials, including District Education Officers, principals, and teachers to foster relationships.
• Serve as the principal contact for school coordination activities.
• Support school management in planning, monitoring, and enhancing program deployment.
• Conduct weekly school visits to ensure quality and consistency; travel expenses reimbursed.
• Observe classroom integration and support teachers in applying Khan Academy tools effectively.
• Identify and address challenges related to adoption or understanding promptly.
• Gather insights through data collection and regular feedback to inform program improvements.
• Document trainings, visits, and meetings systematically for accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve field challenges and optimize program operations.
• Contribute to continuous process enhancements based on operational learnings.

Candidate Profile

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience; background as an educator or work with Telangana government schools is preferred.
• Proficiency in Telugu and English across reading, writing, and speaking.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to cultivate and sustain relationships across multiple stakeholders.
• Capability to navigate challenges during on-ground implementation and resolve issues aligned with program objectives.
• Excellent organizational aptitude and capacity to handle diverse tasks across several schools simultaneously.
• Competent in documenting multi-source information clearly and accessibly.
• Comfort with data: monitoring usage trends, deriving insights, and applying qualitative and quantitative feedback to enhance execution.
• Effective communicator able to engage diverse groups including teachers and government officials.
• Quick to learn and adapt to new environments and responsibilities.
• Strong ownership mindset, proactive in problem solving, and willing to contribute hands-on to team efforts.
• Deep commitment to educational advancement and improving student learning outcomes.
• Based in Telangana with willingness to travel extensively for weekly school visits.
