About the Role
As a Dispenser at Boots, you will serve as an essential member of the pharmacy team located within store premises, tasked with supporting pharmacists and healthcare staff to deliver safe and efficient pharmacy and health services. This position requires in-store presence in the UK; remote applications or candidates without verified UK work eligibility and qualifications are not eligible.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and ensure the safe distribution of medications, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and prescription collection tasks.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in providing and managing pharmacy services effectively.
- Deliver medicine-related advice to patients and escalate queries to pharmacists as necessary.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures for lawful and safe dispensing.
- Remain informed about new in-store innovations and follow operational procedures diligently.
- Assist patients in managing prescriptions through dependable repeat services, encouraging medicine adherence, and minimizing waste.
- Utilize evolving technologies and systems to enhance traditional dispensing workflows, increasing patient safety and allowing more patient interaction time.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 or equivalent qualifications, or currently pursuing an MPharm with completion of the first year.
- Valid and current UK right to work documentation; note that sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visas is not offered.
- Previous experience in community pharmacy settings is advantageous.
