Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate closely with fellow dispatchers to manage daily operations.
• Address and resolve issues encountered by drivers promptly.
• Document all pertinent information regarding driver and vehicle departures and arrivals, ensuring alignment with driver coordinators for administrative accuracy.
• Analyze completed routes to optimize efficiency and compliance.
• Supervise scheduled journeys to confirm on-time performance, feasibility, and adherence to drivers' working hours.
• Monitor driver data to ensure compliance with legal driving and rest time regulations.
• Provide expert guidance to various planning departments on driver availability and allocation.
• Encourage and motivate drivers to take responsibility for their assigned tasks and duties.

Role Context

The Dispatcher acts as the primary contact point for drivers and, together with planning teams, maximizes the efficient use of drivers and vehicles. The role requires managing operations under pressure during busy periods and collaborating with driver coordinators and human resources to handle driver-related matters effectively. A sound understanding of the drivers' roles, economic planning pressures, customer expectations, and organizational goals enables successful balancing of these varied interests.
