Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Traffic Department regarding load assignments for various flight routes and segments.
• Collaborate with the Manager of Flight Dispatch to uphold and refine dispatch standard operating procedures.
• Conduct operational flight monitoring to identify changes in operational and weather conditions that could impact flight safety; track flights and report relevant updates to pilots.
• Create, review, approve, issue, and update operational flight plans ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
• Oversee the Flight Dispatch function on flight days to guarantee safe and effective operational control according to Canadian and international regulations as well as company procedures.
• Complete, audit, and maintain flight documentation from all operational bases.
• Arrange and manage airport handling services at offline airports as needed.
• Authorize aircraft releases adhering to conditions set by the operational flight plan.
• Provide comprehensive and professional flight briefings to pilots upon request or when necessary.
• Activate accident alarm processes and prepare Flight Incident Category Reports as required.
• Assist with crew scheduling duties.
• Guide stations on passenger and payload management during irregular operations.
• Coordinate with commercial operations to develop and implement alternate operational plans during irregularities to reduce customer impact while maintaining safety.
• Perform any other related tasks as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated quick decision-making skills, sound judgment, and ability to adapt to changing situations.
• Experience working effectively under pressure.
• Capability to accept and act upon performance feedback constructively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Possession of a Type B dispatch license or successful completion of Transport Canada’s dispatch generic examinations is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Industry Canada Restricted Radio certificate is a plus.
