About the Role

We are recruiting a dedicated Disability Support Specialist to contribute significantly to enabling individuals to live independent and enriching lives. This role involves collaborating closely with the Person In-Charge and multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalised, high-standard care. You'll also play a leadership role by supporting and mentoring frontline staff to ensure outstanding service delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised, person-centred support tailored to each individual’s unique needs and aspirations.
  • Encourage and promote independence, inclusion, informed choice, and active participation in everyday activities.
  • Lead by example in supporting and mentoring frontline staff, fostering best practices.
  • Assist with medication administration, key-working duties, care plan development, and executing clinical and support strategies.
  • Develop and sustain positive relationships with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary care team to facilitate desired outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation while adhering to health, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a QQI Level 6 qualification or higher in Social Care, Healthcare, or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of direct experience as a Direct Support Worker or in a comparable position.
  • Valid full Irish driving licence.
  • Holder of an Irish, EU, or EEA passport.
  • Excellent communication capabilities combined with a proactive, empathetic, and person-centred mindset.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage between €18 and €20.
