Job Overview

The Director of Transaction Accounting leads SEVEN's transactional finance operations, focusing on managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable / Revenue teams. This role ensures accurate, timely handling of all payable and revenue transactions across SEVEN's entertainment venues, cinemas, and corporate sectors. It emphasizes driving revenue assurance, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and achieving operational excellence in finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and align transaction accounting goals and performance metrics with overall finance objectives, including AP throughput, AR collections, revenue accuracy, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across all SEVEN divisions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external audit teams to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards and company policies, and maintain strong stakeholder relations including with QIC group finance.
  • Create and implement transaction accounting policies and procedures covering AP processing, payment approvals, revenue recognition, ZATCA compliance, and AR collection to ensure consistent operational excellence.
  • Oversee employee performance management within the transaction accounting function to foster continual performance improvement.
  • Supervise accounts payable activities, including managing advance payments, prepaid expenses, petty cash, corporate credit card records, invoice validation, aging reports, and variance analyses to ensure accurate GL entries and adherence to organizational policies.
  • Oversee accounts receivable operations, ensuring accuracy in documentation, adherence to revenue policies, proper billing, management of commercials such as promotions, discounts, and commissions, as well as cash collection oversight and discrepancy resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with leasing revenue recognition according to IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 standards, including monitoring revenues from F&B tenancies and commercial leases.
  • Manage ZATCA e-invoicing compliance for all AR transactions, ensuring timely submission consistent with Phase 2 mandates.
  • Lead revenue assurance controls by reviewing system reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating resolution efforts with IT and Operations.
  • Ensure daily reconciliations of revenue across POS systems (VGS, Micros, Vista) are accurate and complete.
  • Prepare aging reports and handle allowance journal entries timely.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is mandatory; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Professional finance/accounting credentials (e.g., CPA, SOCPA, CFA, CFP) are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 12-15 years’ relevant experience, including at least 5 years in leadership or management roles.
  • Prior experience with a Big 4 audit firm in Audit and Assurance is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience managing high-volume AP and AR operations through ERP systems (SAP preferred) along with familiarity with revenue management platforms such as VGS, Micros, Vista, and ZATCA e-invoicing.
  • Background in transactional accounting within the entertainment, hospitality, or retail industries is preferred.
