Role Overview
The Demand Planner is responsible for planning and managing material and service demands across all UK projects, including Overhaul Facilities. This role supports the SAP S/4HANA system implementation by ensuring data integrity and standardizing processes for a seamless transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee demand planning, inventory controls, and reorder strategies to maintain material availability aligned with business requirements across UK sites.
- Monitor and manage consumption of corrective spares to set reorder levels following company inventory policies.
- Prepare weekly reorder lists and monthly reorder proposals, factoring consumption trends and lead times to prevent stock shortages.
- Serve as SAP Key User for Demand Planning, facilitating system implementation, testing, training, and data migration activities.
- Carry out warranty material acquisition procedures and coordinate periodic stocktakes when necessary.
- Generate detailed reports and KPIs as requested by management to support decision-making.
- Support logistics operations, contribute to process improvements, and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Place purchase orders with approved suppliers as needed to support logistics administration.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum English and Mathematics qualifications at standard grade 3 or equivalent.
- CIPS qualification or progress towards it is advantageous.
- Proven experience in demand planning and supply chain management.
- Proficient with ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities including macros, pivot tables, and formulas.
- Experience within engineering or rail sectors is desirable but not mandatory.
