Role overview

NIIT is looking for an enthusiastic and technically strong Databricks Trainer to run high-quality learning sessions for professionals and enterprise clients in Brazil. The role calls for practical experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and end-to-end data engineering and data science workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver online training sessions on Databricks, Spark, and connected technologies.
• Adapt learning content to match client requirements and real-world business scenarios.
• Facilitate workshops, practical lab sessions, and interactive question-and-answer discussions.
• Help learners develop both core and advanced skills in data engineering and data science using Databricks.
• Keep pace with new Databricks releases, features, and recommended practices.
• Share suggestions with the curriculum team to improve and refine course material.
• When needed, assist pre-sales activities by presenting demos or hosting webinars.

Qualifications and experience

• Background as a trainer, teacher, or instructor in data analytics, engineering, or cloud-related subjects.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and PySpark.
• Solid understanding of data engineering, SQL, Python, and big data ecosystems.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP will be an added advantage.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation abilities.
• Prior experience delivering technical learning to working professionals or corporate audiences.

Preferred profile

• Databricks or Spark certification, such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate.
• Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring in a technical setting.
• Ability to design training content and build lab exercises.

Mandatory qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the computer or IT industry.
• At least 3 years of instructional or training experience.
• Strong foundation in data analysis, data engineering with Apache Spark and Python, and machine learning.
• Databricks certifications are required, or must be completed within 60 days of joining.
• Required certifications include Data Engineering with Databricks, Advanced Data Engineering with Databricks, Machine Learning with Databricks (formerly Scalable Machine Learning), Machine Learning in Production, and Generative AI Engineering with Databricks (formerly LLM).

Additional skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
• Strong classroom facilitation and group management skills.

Other requirements

• Must be willing to travel as needed.
