Role Summary

We are seeking a Data Infrastructure Engineer for a full-time remote position based in Kenya, enabling work from anywhere. This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that empower business intelligence and decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines for large-scale data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
Implement and support data warehousing and data lake solutions to facilitate both analytical and operational reporting needs.
Work collaboratively with data scientists and analysts to guarantee data accessibility and data quality.
Continuously monitor pipeline performance, identify and troubleshoot issues to maintain system reliability and efficiency.
Create comprehensive documentation covering data architecture, workflows, and compliance standards for team use.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Strong command of SQL and hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL database systems.
Practical knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and frameworks such as Apache Airflow and Apache Spark.
Understanding of data modeling concepts and sound principles in data warehouse design.
Experience working with cloud service platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure to establish and manage data infrastructure.
Excellent problem-solving aptitude focusing on scalable and high-performance data engineering solutions.
