Role overview
The Data Entry Analyst role focuses on entering, checking, and analyzing information to help business operations run smoothly and reporting stay accurate. The position requires careful handling of data so records remain complete, consistent, and reliable.
In this job, you will work with spreadsheets, databases, and internal platforms to capture, sort, and validate information. You will also review records for gaps or errors, carry out simple analysis, and help prepare reports used for operational and business decisions.
A major part of the role is protecting data quality by spotting discrepancies, tracking trends, and supporting verification work. You will also coordinate with other teams to keep information current and aligned with business needs.
This position blends routine data entry with basic analysis and reporting, making it a good fit for someone who enjoys both structured administrative work and data-focused tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Record, refresh, and maintain information in databases and internal systems
- Check records to make sure they are accurate, complete, and consistent
- Find and fix mistakes, gaps, or mismatched data
- Carry out basic data checks and simple analysis
- Prepare reports, summaries, and other data-related documents
- Contribute to data quality and data integrity efforts
- Sort, organize, and manage digital files and datasets
- Work with teammates to resolve data issues
- Handle information carefully and follow confidentiality procedures
- Support ad hoc reporting and administrative work when needed
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate should have excellent attention to detail, a strong focus on accuracy, and the ability to stay organized while managing large amounts of information. Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability are important, along with comfort using spreadsheets and data tools.
Experience with databases or reporting systems is helpful, though not mandatory. You should also be able to communicate clearly, manage time well, work independently, follow set procedures, and quickly adapt to new tools and workflows.
Preferred educational background
A background in Business, Administration, Data, or a similar field is preferred.
