Data Analyst - Remote Role in Los Angeles, CA

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Analyst to join a Pasadena-based organization on a contract arrangement with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position. The role centers on transforming sales, operations, labor efficiency, and scan data into understandable and actionable reporting solutions that support informed business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain dashboards that clearly display sales, operational, labor efficiency, and scan data.
• Automate manual spreadsheet reports by developing Power BI dashboards to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Analyze extensive datasets to discern trends, patterns, and areas for business improvement.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and deliver pertinent insights.
• Utilize advanced Excel tools such as Power Query, pivot tables, and macros to process and interpret data.
• Provide consistent reporting support alongside longer analytical initiatives and process enhancements.
• Create automated reporting workflows that improve metric transparency and streamline repetitive analyses.
• Assist with data mapping and location-based analytics, employing geographic or field tools as required.
• Independently resolve data inconsistencies, verify result accuracy, and maintain report and dashboard reliability.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in data analysis or a comparable analytical role within data-rich environments.
• Proficient in Power BI with a track record of creating impactful dashboards and reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel capabilities, including macro programming, Power Query, and pivot table usage.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges.
• Experience managing large, detailed datasets with precision and organizational discipline.
• Ability to concurrently handle routine operational reporting and long-term analytical projects.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in disciplines such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Knowledge of business systems and familiarity with spatial or mapping software like ArcGIS considered advantageous.
