Role Overview
Sezzle is seeking a Data Analyst to contribute to achieving business goals through analytics. This role offers the chance to operate in a rapidly growing, dynamic environment while collaborating with various departments including Product, Engineering, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Support, Legal, and People Operations. The key functions include identifying data-driven opportunities, measuring performance metrics, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business teams to grasp priorities and analytics requirements.
- Develop complex analyses and reports that support strategic initiatives and foster data-driven decision-making.
- Translate analytical findings into clear visualizations and narratives to help stakeholders understand and act on insights.
- Assist teams in uncovering new business opportunities through data analysis.
- Maintain and evaluate dashboards and reports, proactively troubleshooting and performing root cause investigations.
- Leverage modern AI technologies such as large language models, copilots, and automation platforms to boost analytical productivity and build scalable solutions.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, economics, data science, computer science, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Master’s degree or at least 3 years of professional experience involving complex dataset creation, reporting, data profiling, or machine learning.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and actionable dataset creation.
- Experience using Python for data analytics and processing.
- Capability to independently perform thorough analyses with minimal oversight.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Redash, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
- Ability to make impactful decisions in a fast-paced and occasionally ambiguous setting, swiftly adapting to new priorities.
- Outstanding problem-solving aptitude.
- Strong business judgment and communication skills.
- Fluent English language skills.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline.
- Experience enhancing operational and financial performance.
- Industry experience in payments, financial services, banking, fintech, or BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) sectors.
