Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to play a vital role in establishing, securing, and supporting the organization's technology environment. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing cybersecurity controls, identity solutions, endpoint security, data protection, and monitoring systems throughout the company. Additionally, the specialist will assist with select IT infrastructure management tasks and aid in deploying modern Microsoft cloud and endpoint solutions. This opportunity allows you to help develop and advance the company's security and infrastructure capabilities while supporting digital transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, deploy, and sustain cybersecurity procedures, controls, and operational workflows.
  • Develop and manage Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Data Loss Prevention functionalities organization-wide.
  • Maintain identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and Privileged Access management.
  • Design endpoint security and device compliance using Microsoft Intune.
  • Participate in rolling out and configuring Microsoft 365, Azure, and related infrastructure services.
  • Establish security baselines, hardening best practices, operational guidelines, and thorough documentation.
  • Support secure network infrastructure including firewall configurations, VPN security, and Zero Trust architecture initiatives.
  • Monitor cybersecurity threats, respond to incidents, and manage security alerts.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and oversee remediation.
  • Assist with security governance, risk management, audits, and compliance efforts.
  • Review security of cloud, infrastructure, and applications.
  • Lead cybersecurity education and awareness programs.
  • Assist in Microsoft 365 administration, including user lifecycle and access governance.
  • Support endpoint deployments, patching, and device maintenance.
  • Review network security settings, firewall rules, and VPN controls.
  • Engage in network vulnerability scans and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure Manager on projects enhancing infrastructure and security.
  • Manage transition of security solutions into routine support and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive security and operational documentation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in cybersecurity, information security operations, or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender security products.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM solutions.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID security features including MFA and Conditional Access.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, device compliance, and security policies.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 security and endpoint protection mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, and related data security concepts.
  • Understanding endpoint security, vulnerability management, and threat detection methodologies.
  • Awareness of Azure security controls and cloud security fundamentals.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 user administration and lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of Windows administration and endpoint management.
  • Strong background in network fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and wireless.
  • Understanding of network security concepts including firewalls, intrusion detection, network segmentation, and secure remote access.
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting and traffic analysis tools.
  • Experience responding to security incidents and leading remediation efforts.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Professional proficiency in English communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and Defender for Office 365.
  • Implementation of Microsoft Purview DLP and Information Protection solutions.
  • Work knowledge of Zero Trust security models.
  • Background supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Security experience with SAP or other enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with standards like ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
  • Hands-on knowledge of security appliances like Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Sophos, or Check Point.
  • Experience managing firewalls, VPNs, and network access controls.
  • Understanding network monitoring and data traffic analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for Microsoft administration automation.
  • Leading or supporting security awareness and training initiatives.
