Position Summary

The Credit Analyst - Senior Specialist will provide detailed credit analysis support within the Corporate Banking division covering sectors like Aviation, Shipping, Financial Institutions, Middle Market, and General Corporates in Singapore. This role plays a crucial part in the credit decision-making process through comprehensive financial review, credit report generation, financial forecasting, sector research, and collaboration with Corporate Banking and Credit Risk teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough financial and credit assessments of corporate banking clients, examining historical and current financial statements to evaluate profitability, liquidity, leverage, cash flow, debt servicing capability, and overall credit risk.
  • Develop, review, and analyze financial models and forecasts for credit applications, renewals, and reviews, ensuring assumptions are realistic and documented.
  • Compile clear, comprehensive credit reports summarizing financial analyses, risks, repayment capacity, and industry outlook to support credit approvals.
  • Collaborate closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk teams, and internal stakeholders to gather financial data, validate assumptions, respond to queries, and facilitate credit decision processes.
  • Conduct sector and industry research on market trends and external risks to provide insight on borrower risk profiles across relevant sectors.
  • Assist with ongoing portfolio and risk monitoring by tracking borrower financial health, covenant compliance, and credit risk changes, highlighting emerging concerns.
  • Manage multiple credit cases effectively under tight deadlines, prioritizing submissions while ensuring quality and analytical accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant credit analysis experience in banking, corporate or commercial banking, credit risk, or audit; candidates with 8+ years may be considered for mid-level roles.
  • Proven experience in credit report writing and credit risk assessment within corporate banking environments.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, financial modeling, credit risk evaluation, and lending processes.
  • Familiarity with sectors such as Middle Market, Financial Institutions, and General Corporates is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence internal partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities efficiently.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese to liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts.
