About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time role located at Manukau District Court in Auckland. The position suits someone who is proactive, flexible, and equipped with specialist knowledge and practical experience to support victims of crime throughout the court journey.
The role focuses on helping victims stay informed about case progress and supporting them to take part meaningfully in the Criminal Justice System. Your work will have a direct and significant impact on people affected by crime.
What You Need to Bring
- Strength and resilience when working closely with people through difficult circumstances
- A composed, approachable manner and the ability to build rapport easily
- Confidence working with stakeholders and with victims impacted by serious offending, especially family violence
About the Team
You will join the South Auckland Court Victim Advisor team based at Manukau District Court. Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will understand and reflect the local community being served and will help the Ministry of Justice meet its commitment to the people of Aotearoa.
- Clear and confident communication, supported by good judgment
- Strong relationship-building and relationship-management skills
- Awareness of different cultures and the ability to work effectively with victims and their whānau from a range of backgrounds
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in the family violence sector is preferred
