Corporate Development Associate

Position Overview

Join Google's Corporate Development team in Mountain View, CA, to collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Product, Legal, Finance, and People Operations. Your role involves identifying, evaluating, and negotiating acquisition and strategic investment opportunities that align with company growth strategies. You will provide insightful analysis of industry landscapes and regional specifics to support effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and internal product developments.
• Identify, analyze, and value potential acquisition and investment opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships within ecosystems and represent the team at relevant industry events to stay abreast of key market trends.
• Support leadership in management decisions, including assisting in negotiations and agreement execution.
• Collaborate closely with Google’s product and engineering teams to align strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years working in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or venture capital/private equity in the technology sector.
• At least 2 years conducting industry research and analyzing market trends.
• Two years handling due diligence documentation and navigating legal frameworks.
• Experience in internet, communications, e-commerce, or cloud sectors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Four years of experience with financial modeling and consulting within the industry.
• Four years in consulting or venture capital roles, including familiarity with legal procedures and terms.
• Strong knowledge of Google products and a broad cross-functional perspective.
• Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including financial valuation capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail, people management, communication skills, sound business judgment, and strong work ethic.

The Corporate Development team spearheads Google’s global growth by uncovering acquisition and strategic investment opportunities and leading negotiation and integration efforts. This group comprises merger and acquisition experts, investment professionals, strategy specialists, and integration experts dedicated to shaping the business landscape of the future.

Compensation

Salary range in the US is $123000 to $177000 annually, plus a target bonus of 15%, equity awards, and benefits.
