Job description
Position Overview
This role provides technical expertise to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal procedures within the department. It encompasses monitoring legal and regulatory updates, preparing and reviewing compliance policies, conducting legal audits, training staff, and managing complaint resolution concerning non-compliance to protect the department’s interests and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review specialized legal compliance methods and plans.
- Perform compliance audits to ensure conformity with applicable laws and regulations.
- Offer specialized legal advice to organizational units regarding regulatory compliance matters.
- Implement the strategic management’s directives related to legal compliance.
- Prepare and submit detailed compliance reports to management.
- Investigate non-compliance complaints and propose appropriate corrective measures.
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness of relevant laws and regulations.
- Analyze potential legal gaps, identify weaknesses in compliance, and recommend remedial actions.
- Track and assess legislative changes at local and federal levels affecting the department.
- Perform technical analysis and interpret complex laws and regulations.
- Regularly review existing policies to ensure alignment with the latest legislative developments.
- Support operational plans and management initiatives assigned by the supervisor.
- Monitor updates to the legal compliance record and ensure sectors implement necessary compliance action plans.
- Represent the department in legal disputes related to compliance and work towards lawful resolutions.
- Provide periodic management reports on compliance status and potential risks.
- Assist legal advisors in conducting specialized research to maintain robust reporting and follow-up procedures on violations.
- Conduct research and propose new or revised legislation related to compliance matters.
- Implement department-specific risk mitigation plans as directed by internal audit.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent field.
- Master’s degree in Law is preferred.
- Certified Legal Compliance Professional (CLCP), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), or an equivalent certification.
- At least 6 years of professional experience in legal compliance roles.
- Proven expertise in monitoring legislative changes, policy development, legal audits, staff training, and compliance issue management.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English languages is essential.
