Role Overview
Cisco seeks a versatile Content Writer skilled in crafting clear, cohesive narratives across diverse formats and channels. This position involves converting intricate technical and business topics into compelling content aimed at customers, partners, employees, and wider industry audiences. The ideal candidate adapts seamlessly among different communication mediums.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and refine various content types including video scripts, blog articles, social media posts, executive briefs, presentations, and both internal and external communication materials.
- Develop and uphold consistent brand voice and style standards throughout all teams and communication channels.
- Apply best copywriting practices and tailor messaging to audience needs and behavioral insights.
- Transform complex technical subjects like security, artificial intelligence, networking, and infrastructure into approachable language suited to the target audience.
- Create and maintain style guides to guarantee clarity and uniformity in all content.
- Collaborate with communications and marketing departments to support corporate storytelling and executive visibility initiatives.
- Work alongside designers, video producers, and subject matter experts to enhance content across formats.
- Review and edit contributions from other content creators to maintain quality and brand voice alignment.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously within a dynamic, cross-disciplinary environment.
- Embody Cisco's core principles and brand identity in all contributions.
Qualifications
- At least eight years’ experience in communication, media, or content roles, with a preference for business or technology-focused writing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional storytelling and persuasive writing capabilities, with an aptitude for engaging diverse audiences authentically.
- Expertise in tone, voice, and editorial discretion; able to modify style without compromising brand consistency across channels.
- Competency with AI-based tools to innovate workflows and enhance outcomes.
- Demonstrated project management skills to juggle competing priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with Cisco’s product portfolio, business, and corporate culture is advantageous.
- Capability to provide a portfolio or samples of written work.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this role in the U.S. and Canada is $165,200 to $210,600 annually, excluding bonuses, equity, or additional benefits. Actual compensation varies depending on location, candidate qualifications, and experience.
Employees in the U.S. are eligible for a comprehensive benefits program encompassing medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, parental leave, disability insurance, and basic life insurance. Additionally, restricted stock units may be granted subject to eligibility and continued employment.
Paid time off includes 10 holidays per year plus a floating holiday (non-exempt staff), one birthday holiday, year-end shutdown, 4 wellness days, 16 vacation days for non-exempt employees, flexible vacation for exempt employees, 80 hours of sick leave annually with carryover, and optional volunteer leave of 10 paid days annually.
Bonus programs apply including annual bonuses for non-sales employees and performance-based incentives for sales roles with varied payout scales based on revenue attainment.
