Computer Software Engineer (Entry-Level)

Overview

We are looking to hire recent graduates for our Database & Storage Infrastructure team based in Singapore. As a Computer Software Engineer at our company, you will receive thorough training and guidance to design, develop, and maintain software for large-scale distributed database and storage systems. This key role will support business-critical operations across various regional markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in researching, designing, and creating software utilities for managing extensive distributed database and storage platforms under team supervision.
• Analyze user and system requirements to contribute to software solutions by applying core computer science and engineering principles.
• Update and improve existing software functionalities and assist in software testing and validation for database and storage services.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams to facilitate the integration of database systems and contribute to setting system specifications and performance goals.
• Develop tooling and automation for monitoring, capacity management, backup, and incident handling under mentor guidance.
• After onboarding, gradually participate in on-call duties and assist with production incident resolution.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, Computer Studies, or Software Engineering from the classes of 2026 or 2027.
• Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer networks (including TCP/IP), databases, and computer architecture.
• Basic understanding of distributed database systems concepts such as indexing, transactions, ACID properties, MVCC, consensus algorithms like Raft, sharding, the CAP theorem, and high availability.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, including Golang, Java, Python, or Rust.
• Effective communication skills in both Mandarin and English to engage with stakeholders and teams across regional markets.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, take ownership, and eagerly participate in production infrastructure system work.
