Commis - Pastry, Bakery & Cold Kitchen (Relocation to Kuwait)

Job Overview

This entry-level culinary position as a Commis in Pastry, Bakery and Cold Kitchen requires relocating to Kuwait. Candidates currently residing in the UAE and willing to move to Kuwait are encouraged to apply. The role supports daily kitchen operations while upholding quality and hygiene standards at Earth Roastery Café.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare doughs, batters, breads, pastries, cakes, creams, fillings, and glazes following recipes.
• Produce artisan baked goods like breads, croissants, muffins, and cookies.
• Make salads, sandwiches, cold appetizers, dressings, platters, and desserts.
• Slice and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood and bakery ingredients per guidelines.
• Assemble and garnish pastries and cold dishes to meet presentation standards.
• Perform mise en place by weighing, measuring, and organizing all ingredients.
• Set up and maintain efficient, tidy workstations before and during service.
• Ensure product quality, taste, texture, and freshness; report issues promptly.
• Assist with inventory control, proper storage, labeling, and applying FIFO principles.
• Adhere strictly to HACCP, food safety, and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination.
• Collaborate with kitchen teams during peak times and cross-support other sections as needed.
• Attend kitchen briefings, continually develop skills, and accept constructive feedback positively.

Qualifications & Skills

• Prior experience in a similar culinary role.
• Good knowledge of international and artisan pastry methods.
• Creative flair with careful attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time well and contribute as a team member.
• Understanding of hygiene standards, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
• Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and special events.
