Position Overview

Join Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Fujairah, UAE, as a Commis 1, specializing in culinary preparation and food quality management within a non-management capacity. The role involves preparing special meals and substitute dishes, regulating cooking equipment temperatures, and ensuring proper storage and thawing of food items.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food following recipes, presentation, and quality standards.
• Manage portion sizes, food arrangement, and garnish to maintain visual appeal.
• Monitor food quantities and quality during preparation.
• Maintain food logs and report inventory details such as excess items for daily specials.
• Communicate menu specials and shortages to Food & Beverage service personnel.
• Follow safety, security procedures, and company policies; report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Provide support to management in staffing activities including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees.
• Act as a role model within the team, fostering positive working relationships and supporting collective goals.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Anticipate and meet guests' service expectations.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking for long durations; reaching, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
• Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar culinary role.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications mandated.

Work Environment
