CNC Machinist

Overview

We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist and Programmer who thrives on diverse, custom machining tasks rather than repetitive production work. You'll be tasked with transforming engineering drawings into precise programming instructions, setting up CNC machinery, and delivering high-quality custom components. The majority of the machining will involve engineering plastics, along with some composite and metal materials.

Key Duties

• Develop CNC programs based on technical drawings
• Create and refine CAM software programs for efficient machining
• Prepare and operate CNC milling and turning machines
• Produce precision components with strict adherence to tolerances
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards
• Choose suitable tooling and machining approaches
• Diagnose and resolve programming or machining challenges
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to achieve quality results
• Uphold rigorous safety and cleanliness standards within the workshop

Candidate Profile

• Trade certification in Machining, Fitting & Turning, Toolmaking, or related disciplines
• Solid experience in CNC programming
• Hands-on experience with CNC milling and turning machinery
• Background in machining engineering plastics
• Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings
• Thorough understanding of machining principles and dimensional accuracy
• Experience working with CAM software tools
