Role Overview

The Clinical Assistant supports hospice pharmacy benefit management by ensuring effective medication use, managing claims, and assisting hospice partners with prior authorization and medication access. This role bridges clinical support, pharmacy operations, and technology to streamline administrative processes and enhance care coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review medication claims to identify costly or unsuitable drugs before approval.
  • Communicate with hospice partners regarding medication alternatives and formulary options.
  • Support reducing claim denials and medication-related expenses.
  • Maintain accurate medication profiles, eligibility details, and documentation.
  • Assist with medication claims research, prior authorization, and claim resolution to prevent care disruption.
  • Provide prompt, professional support to hospice staff on pharmacy benefit services and workflows.
  • Train and assist hospice teams in effectively using e-prescribing platforms and troubleshooting related technical issues.
