About the Role
We are offering a permanent opportunity for a Cleaner/Housekeeper to join our team supporting the Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and providing catering services across 21 sites managed by Amey, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment in line with contractual obligations.
Working Hours and Salary
The position offers a wage of £13.45 per hour. Standard working hours are 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with alternate weekend shifts from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver cleaning and catering services, including regenerating cook-chill meals, aligning with contract standards.
- Perform cleaning duties in both general and clinical areas such as damp-dusting, high-level dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
- Operate automatic dishwashers effectively.
- Maintain sanitary areas by emptying bins and replenishing supplies like hand towels.
- Ensure meal service aligns with ward schedules and monitor cook-chill food quality, reporting any expired items.
- Clean tables and chairs before and after meal times.
- Uphold health and safety standards throughout the contract.
- Contribute to the organization's zero carbon initiatives where appropriate.
Candidate Profile
- Organized and diligent with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong customer service orientation; approachable and positively engaged with work ethics.
- Eager to learn and support team members.
- Willingness to understand food hygiene and health and safety practices, assisted by training.
Additional Requirements and Considerations
Applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check as part of our commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
