About the Role

We are collaborating with a top-tier engineering consultancy firm in Singapore to recruit a regional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) or Chief Information Officer (CIO). This position is essential to leading digital transformation initiatives within the built-environment sector across APAC. The organization specializes in multidisciplinary engineering, infrastructure, and advisory services, with a strong track record in handling complex projects and promoting sustainable design.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the C-suite, the CTO/CIO will be deeply integrated in the executive leadership team and hold responsibility for the comprehensive technology strategy. This covers core IT functions, cybersecurity, digital engineering, data management, and innovation efforts. The role involves steering technology strategies for significant infrastructure, transport, and built-environment projects in Singapore and the broader region. The incumbent will oversee BIM and digital engineering, develop data platforms, manage collaboration and cloud solutions, and explore cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins and AI applied to project execution. Additionally, the role influences investment decisions, client engagement strategies, and commercial directives within the firm.

Regional Influence

Based in Singapore, this leadership position directs technological strategies across multiple offices and markets within the Asia-Pacific region, managing technology portfolios that span various countries and client needs.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants will possess over 15 years of experience in technology leadership roles within engineering, infrastructure, construction, or related built-environment fields, or consulting roles servicing these segments. Candidates should have proven success as a CTO, CIO, Head of IT, Director of Technology, or Digital Transformation leader with accountability for multi-business or multi-country technology operations. A balanced expertise is essential, combining enterprise IT competencies (including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and data governance) with frontline digital capabilities like BIM, cloud collaboration, and project analytics. Commercial acumen is critical, with demonstrated ability to link technology investments to project delivery outcomes, profitability margins, and enhanced client experiences, rather than merely ensuring system availability.

Compensation

The salary is competitive, ranging approximately between SGD 220,000 and SGD 350,000 annually, depending on the candidate's expertise, level of responsibility, and relevance of experience to the built-environment consulting sector.
