Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Role Overview

16VC is looking for a Chief Operating Officer to lead the firm’s day-to-day operations, investment execution support, founder-facing programs, and wider ecosystem initiatives. In this role, you will partner closely with the Founder & General Partner to help design and run a venture platform that can grow efficiently while serving founders, investors, and portfolio companies well.

Core Responsibilities

Operations and Firm Administration

• Run the firm’s daily operating rhythm and keep core functions moving smoothly.
• Design, refine, and scale internal systems, workflows, and operating processes.
• Oversee legal, finance, compliance, and general administrative activities.

Investment Operations

• Coordinate the movement of deals through sourcing, diligence, and execution.
• Handle SPV formation, supporting documents, and closing coordination.
• Maintain systems for tracking portfolio performance and investment reporting.

Founder and Portfolio Support

• Manage onboarding for portfolio companies and ongoing founder engagement.
• Drive founder support programs and strategic initiatives.
• Connect resources across the broader 16VC ecosystem to support companies.

Fellowship and Studio

• Own the delivery and growth of the 16VC Fellowship.
• Oversee Studio operations and startup support programs.
• Build collaborative relationships with founders, operators, mentors, and advisors.

Investor Relations

• Support communications and reporting for limited partners.
• Coordinate investor updates, meetings, and related documentation.
• Strengthen relationships across the investor community.

Ecosystem Growth

• Help organize events, community efforts, and strategic partnerships.
• Contribute to 16VC’s positioning as a founder-first venture platform.
• Raise operational quality across all firm activities.

Requirements

• Background in venture capital, startups, private equity, consulting, or operations leadership.
• Demonstrated strength in organization and project management.
• Ability to manage several stakeholders and initiatives at once.
• Working knowledge of startup ecosystems and venture investing.
• Clear communication skills and strong relationship management ability.

Reporting and Ownership

You will report to the Founder & General Partner. The role includes ownership of operations, investment operations, Fellowship, Studio, investor relations, portfolio support, and ecosystem development.
