About the organization
Foxdale Village, a Quaker-guided life plan community in State College, Pennsylvania, is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer because of an upcoming retirement. Over the last 35 years, the community has built a strong reputation for dependable support of residents and staff, high-quality care, and sound financial performance. It maintains strong occupancy levels and solid financial metrics. The campus includes 205 cottages and apartments, along with health services that provide 46 skilled nursing residences, including a memory care neighborhood, and 55 private personal care residences.
Role overview
The Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and hold responsibility for all financial matters across Foxdale Village. This leader will also be part of the Executive Leadership Team, which manages the organization through a collaborative, team-based decision-making approach.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports on operating results.
- Represent Foxdale Village at community events in the State College area.
- Build annual staffing, operating, and capital budgets together with department leaders.
- Oversee investment strategy and coordinate regularly with investment advisers.
- Review and approve prospective residents financially and verify resident refund calculations.
- Act as the staff contact for the Finance and Property Committee of the Board of Trustees and work closely with the Board Treasurer.
- Direct the Business Office and Information Technology functions and supervise the heads of both departments.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning for the future of Foxdale Village.
- Take on additional duties as assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting. An MBA or CPA is preferred. The role calls for at least five years of managerial experience, ideally in a healthcare or retirement community environment. Strong dedication to serving older adults, along with proven leadership, organizational, computer, interpersonal, and communication skills, is expected.
