Overview
As a core leader at Pyxis, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) partners closely with the CEO, Board, and investors to provide visionary financial guidance aimed at fueling growth, enhancing profitability, and improving operational efficiency within a rapidly expanding maritime technology company based in Singapore. The CFO oversees all finance-related activities, supports expansion plans, and collaborates with senior leadership to secure sustainable, long-term business progress. This pivotal role blends strategic financial leadership with practical involvement to scale operations and drive successful maritime and infrastructure projects. By delivering insightful financial analysis, managing capital and stakeholder engagements, and optimizing resource allocation, the CFO significantly enhances the organization's financial strength and enterprise value.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to craft and implement the company’s financial strategy, capital deployment approach, and growth objectives.
- Convert operational and commercial data into meaningful financial insights that guide decision-making.
- Develop and nurture trusted relations with investors, board members, financial institutions, government bodies, and strategic partners.
- Prepare investor reports, board presentations, and communications for stakeholders.
- Supervise accounting functions, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting to ensure timely data-driven decisions.
- Create and maintain scalable finance systems, internal controls, and reporting structures appropriate for a high-growth setting.
- Ensure robust governance, risk management, internal controls, and adherence to statutory and regulatory standards.
- Lead capital management including fundraising efforts through equity, debt, and grant mechanisms.
- Develop financial models, investment documents, business cases, and conduct due diligence for funding and growth support.
- Manage banking relationships and financial planning for vessel and infrastructure projects.
- Advocate for and assist with applications for grants and financial incentive programs when applicable.
Ideal Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in finance, including no less than 5 years in senior financial leadership roles.
- Proven track record in capital raising, financial modelling, and strategic financial management.
- Experienced in engaging effectively with investors, boards, financial institutions, and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Singapore’s commercial environment, grant systems, and funding programs is a plus.
- Background in maritime, infrastructure, energy, industrial projects, or asset-heavy industries is advantageous.
- Hands-on and commercially aware approach, comfortable functioning in a dynamic and lean operational setting.
- Exceptional stakeholder management abilities, with a collaborative mindset across various organizational levels and functions.
